Personal & Spec Work

Fun stuff

The honest truth about my work is that I would do it free, so sometimes I do. It's imperative as a designer that we try stuff we're unfamiliar with and find new ways to be expressive. Here are some hits and misses.

Personal work

I designed these 'Adult Merit Badges' just after Covid. I felt like we all deserved a little pat on the back as we learned how to survive in this new world of Zoom calls. So many Zoom calls.

Personal work

Unused logo lockups for a boutique amp tube manufacturer.

Personal work

From a series of t-shirts I designed and printed, featuring the preferred pedals of some famous guitarists.

Personal work

The Metro is a ubiquitous experience living in Washington, DC—but its card system, especially adding money to its card, is universally derided. I worked on a spec design for a mobile app that would address some of the problems. I presented this design as part of an initiative to improve the quality and frequency of design crits on my product design team at CustomInk.

Personal work

I built a water tracker as an excuse to learn React—and it quickly became a design exercise as well.
